October Moon
30” x 22 1/2”
Acrylic/Arches Paper

october moon flew into orbit
with a determined haste
it barely gave a nod hello
to the tips of our sangre de christo’s
as one would do to a street vender
accustomed to seeing in regular travels

this was one of those times
when undefined relationships become
more casual
as though they were strangers

I remember it well
not just because it might be
a thoughtless gesture
but because of its speed and determination
before bursting out of its brilliant shell
orange light melting
across the mountains skin
