The Color Violet
30” x 22 1/2”
Acrylic/Arches Paper
I wonder about the color violet
(You know what I mean, I think?)
It has its way with you
Like a favorite piece of chocolate
At four in the afternoon.
On its surface violet may be fine
Though it can play with you
Not unlike say a coyote
With a Shepherd
It was just funny the coyote
Running right around the juniper
One way to the other
The silly Shepherd thinking he could catch it.
Yet when you think about it
Violet plays just for itself
At the end of the spectrum
A sense of linear finality
Displaying extremes a treacherous storm
To a soft pocket of loving lavender aroma
Then when you least expect it
It sits quietly in integral
Contentedness.
