OK, I doubt it really matters
we cannot help it,
our process has its own
predetermined shape and direction.
like the aged junipers who thrive
in our high desert.

But imagine it anyway just for fun.
Ravens on the wing
winds howling their feathers twisting 
almost to snap point
yet moving effortlessly over and through
the landscape they encounter.

Through my life, futile attempts to  
knock down those walls led me,
head down, “Billy Goat” style,
until I could step 
right through them! 
We did make them, didn’t we?
