Unexpected Arrival
36” x 48”
Acrylic/Canvas

That moment of baptism
impregnated
with the rush of creativity
remains much like meeting
an old beloved friend
appearing unannounced.

Arriving in poverty
and nakedness,
full and flush with potential
normally unknown to mortals
often preoccupied,
her presence eclipses my mind.

She moves softly, as a breath
floats through this body,
with a primal ease,
much like
she were a cloud
dreaming it could fly.

Then I understand,
purely unencumbered, she
is nothing but herself,
free and flowing like the cool river
absorbs complete attention,
a natural flow filled with life.
